SAP Data Archiving

The SAP ECC application has only a few more years of full support. More ECC environments are migrating to the S/4 HANA platform. This brings the question of what to do with legacy data from old systems. One of the measures to employ is SAP Data Archiving.

SAP Data Archiving is a method supported by SAP to remove application data from the database in a consistent, secure and comprehensive manner, while maintaining access to it

Paper Document Archiving

We offer the following Services:

Archiving of Incoming documents: documents such as inquiries, invoices, confirmations are stored in an archive while they are linked to an SAP Business Transaction.

Archiving of Outgoing documents: documents produced by the SAP Application such as order confirmations and invoices are stored in an archive

Archiving of Reports: Printed lists or reports (account reports, stock accounting reports, etc.) are usually lengthy and exert a heavy load on the servers. These reports can be directed to a printer, to an archive, or both.

Document Management System in SAP offers a rich set of additional functions for managing documents in any format (e.g. CAD drawings, spreadsheets, product documentation). These documents can also be moved and safely stored to an archive. They can be accessed electronically by users across the whole enterprise, and linked to diverse SAP business documents. The original document is automatically stored in the electronic archive and linked to the SAP business document.

Application Data Volume Management

Data Volume Management measures address the growth of the Application data volumes, which is driven by numerous factors. Without such measures, data that is never used is stored on the live database.

Some of this data resides in tables do not have associated Archive Objects. For these tables, such as SOC3 (SOFD, SOFM, SOOD, SOFFCONT1, SOOS, SOST) , SBCMCONT1, and so on…, we implement data volume measures to manage the growth of these tables.
